Sedan Chair

Hong Kong Hash's love affair with with the Matilda Sedan Chair is almost as long as the Hash itself - see Sedan Chair 1976 - Hash Pulls a Fast One .

The 'serious' stuff was based on a love/hate/fear relationship between the wonderful Joyce Smith and H4's very own Sheep Shagger Colin Stagg. Using the very same engineering skills that won us the Pedal Car for so many years S.Smith soon resolved the main difficulty of carrying the Chair by putting the thing on wheels!.

When finally Joyce decided to 'retire' from the Matilda to the relative quiet of England (no Stagg) it was left to the lads to carry her to the Noon Day Gun.

Hong Kong Hash has never missed the event, despite the recent introduction of 'guaranteed minimums' on the collection front. Organization has now fallen to the hands of Ian Gordon (not quite as pretty as Stagg!) - a few photos from last year
